Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPPA):

• United States legislation that governs data privacy and security measures for protecting medical information and/or protected health information.

Medical Global Solutions uses preventative measures to protect the privacy and safeguard the security of protected health information (PHI). Protected health information identifies an individual and is created or received by a medical provider.

Any information disclosed to Medical Global Solutions that is considered protected health information is treated as confidential. Access to the disclosed information is limited to only approved personnel. The use or disclosure of protected health information is only as required or permitted under the HIPAA Privacy Regulations. Moreover, that information is only released at the minimum level necessary to fulfill the intended need.
